Abstract

Advancements in domains such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) have facilitated the creation of novel instruments and resolutions that bolster disease prevention, diagnosis, surveillance, therapy, recovery, and care management. Embedded sensor systems have become an essential part of medical device advancements due to their remarkable versatility. This chapter addresses the benefits and drawbacks of utilizing embedded systems in healthcare while reviewing state-of-the-art embedded medical devices. Consequently, the healthcare sector has witnessed the introduction of novel instruments and resolutions that facilitate the averting of ailments or traumas, the identification of ailments or distinct circumstances, and supporting the remediation and recuperation of ailments using patient care and expediting the healing process. Advancements in domains such as AI and the IoT have facilitated the creation of novel instruments and resolutions that bolster disease prevention, diagnosis, surveillance, therapy, recovery, and care management.
