    Abstract

The application of cytochrome P-450 inspired metal-porphyrin catalysts within the oxidation reaction, predominantly in olefin epoxidation, has advanced as a trending topic in research. A strenuous effort has been made to summarize the catalytic activity of the most promising metal-porphyrin-based homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts reported in the literature for the various olefins and cyclic enones epoxidation. This mini-review provides a practical and comprehensive vision for understanding homogeneous and heterogeneous metalloporphyrin-based catalysis and covers the recent advancement of a modern, novel catalytic framework for oxidation chemistry.
