Abstract

Green human resource management is a type of human resource management where it puts the human resource at the center point to achieve the competitive advantage through corporate social responsibility and developing organizational values in the long-term perspective. It involves the management of employees to work towards the levels of ecological sustainability, to support management in making decisions about environmental issues, and to foster environmentally supportive processes. Specifically, green human resource management involves implementing strategies regarding greening the company׳s job categorizations, recruitment processes, socialization practices, performance assessments and compensations, turnover policies and procedures, and employee involvement and participation processes, to handle the stakeholders׳ expectations, policies, and environmental management programs regarding the firm׳s treatment of stakeholders, and to environmental labeling, employees and social concern, as well as citizenship activities.
