Abstract
Approximately 70% of the 81,400 newly diagnosed patients with bladder cancer present with non-muscle invasive urothelial carcinoma. Non-muscle invasive disease is associated with a high risk of recurrence and a lower but significant risk of disease progression with resultant increased morbidity and mortality. The goal of intravesical therapy is to reduce disease recurrence as well as progression. This chapter will discuss the various intravesical therapies that are available, including their mechanisms of actions and efficacy. Their clinical utility will be discussed as well as how to incorporate cystoscopy in the routine follow-up of these patients.
