Abstract

Lower back pain is regarded as one of the most dangerous disabilities that can cause disk degeneration (spinal cord dislocation) for all age groups. In 2017, it was recorded on the Global Burden of Disease Study to have affected individuals in more than 195 countries. Similarly, Lumbar disc herniation is more common in individuals aged 40-69 years than any other age group. This disability causes a great global economic burden involving the loss of money on physical therapy, drugs and primary healthcare. Therefore, in contrast with using drug therapy, the no-drug therapy is perceived to be less expensive with fewer side effects. These processes include acupuncture, exercise therapy, and massage therapy. This research introduces the application of different devices incorporated into one novel smart jacket. This device is comprised of an Arduino ATMEGA 2560 microcontroller containing 54 connectors, a DC12V massage cushion vibrating system, a Bluetooth HC05, an electromyography, a sound sensor module, a medical back strap, a DC fan, jumper wires (used in making the connections between items on the breadboard), and the Arduino header pins and resistors. Comparing our device to modern smart jacket devices applicable in different diseases using specified parameters shows the exceptional attributes of our prototype. It is a cheaper, user-friendly device.
