Abstract

IoT offers a promising opportunity to build efficient industrial systems and functions via Leveraging RFID and wireless, smartphone and sensor monitoring tools. In recent years, a wide range of industrial IoT technologies are being developed and deployed. In order to recognize the applications of IoT in industries, this paper criticizes contemporary IoT functions in industries, and identifies research developments and challenges. A primary contribution of this review paper is that it systematically summarizes contemporary cutting edge IoT in industries. The paper not only describes the key IoT standards but also future trends in IoT applications.
