title = "Basic Medical Science Students Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness: Careless Responses and its Consequences",
abstract = "This study aims to explore the carless responses (CR) in Basic Medical Science Students' Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness (SET) and its consequences. Data was collected using a 20-item Likert scale survey with a sample size of 1280 Basic Medical Science students from the College of Medicine. lz Person-fit statistic for polytomous items (lzp) to detect careless responses in the Graded Response Model (GRM) was used in this study. The results of this study showed that Basic Medical Science Students' Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness contains a high percentage of CRs (27.5\%). CRs harm students' evaluation of their teachers' teaching effectiveness. These CRs decrease the mean of SET. Moreover., CRs decrease the validity of the SET survey. This means that the College of Medicine should have an action plan to detect and remove CRs from the SET dataset before doing the data analysis of SET and writing the reports.",
