Dr. Okobi Ekpo is an anatomist and cellular biologist, with research interests in applied anatomy and pathobiology of neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). He uses experimental models to investigate natural products, nanoformulations and repurposed drugs as neuroprotective agents or integrated therapeutic solutions for NNDs and neurological cancers. Dr. Ekpo has supervised/co-supervised 17 MSc and 10 PhD students, published one book chapter and over 60 articles with more than 1,200 citations. He is an alumnus of the US Fulbright Program and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) schools. He is a member of the American Association for Anatomy (AAA), International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN), Society for Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA) and the Australasian Neuroscience Society (ANS).
