Personal profile

Personal profile

I received my Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology and therapeutics in 2014. My primary work during my PhD revolved around exploring the mechanisms of drug action on ion channels and receptors using electrophysiological techniques like patch clamp, in addition to molecular biology and cell culture. Since joining Zayed University, my unwavering commitment to research has persisted as I continue to passionately contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge. I have published over 50 manuscripts including original research and reviews in high-impact journals. My research is primarily concentrated on two domains: firstly, understanding the role of ion channels and receptors in health and disease, with potential implications for therapeutic interventions. Secondly, exploring the molecular and cellular targets of natural plant extracts. Specifically, my focus lies on identifying the pathways and processes affected in conditions like cancer, diabetes and other ailments related to oxidative stress along with exploring the therapeutic potential of various plant extracts through both in vivo and in vitro studies. This field of study lays the foundation for understanding the therapeutic applications of medicinal plant extracts across a spectrum of health conditions. I have over 15 years of teaching experience in my field of specialty and beyond. I have also been an active member on several committees at the department and college levels.
