Dr. Jibran Iqbal is a Chemist with a focus on Green, Sustainable and Environmental Chemistry. His PhD dissertation focused on the development of novel green and sustainable Chemistry tools and techniques for highly sensitive environmental pollutants analysis. His approach to teaching is to help students build and discover how disciplines and concepts are interconnected. He is motivated and passionate about working with students as they apply concepts to new situations and are challenged to develop creative problem-solving skills. Dr. Jibran's research is highly interdisciplinary, focused on the interface between Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials and Nanotechnology for the development of sustainable water solutions and trace analysis of heavy metals and emerging organic pollutants. He has keen interest in developing nanocomposite, nanoporous and 2D materials for potential applications in catalysis, separations, SERS, sensing and clean energy. He directs research and development of circular Chemistry to enable a circular economy. His research emphasizes a strong link to societal needs and real-life environmental challenges.
